Welcome Coach Leger

David Leger is 53 years old. He is from Ottawa (Ontario - CAN), is married and has two children.

 He began his coaching career in Canada with Hawkesbury of the CJHL in 1998. After 2 seasons with the Hawks he went on to coach 11 seasons at the Univ. of Ottawa (CIAU-CIS/USports) where he was Head Coach from 2003 until 2011. 

 In 2011-12 Leger moved to Japan and worked as Asst.Coach for the Tohoku Free Blades. Following a year back in Canada 2012-13 with the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL, he returned to Japan in 2013-14 and won the Asia League Championship with the Nippon Paper Cranes.

After a first coaching experience in Europe with Dunaújvárosi in the 2014-15 season, he went on to USA to coach 2 seasons in the ECHL with both the Evansville Icemen (Asst.Coach) and the Elmira Jackals (Head Coach).

 In the 2017-18 season he coached a development program in Katowice and led the Poland U20 & U18 National Team.

Back in Canada in 2018 he took over the Kanata Lasers of the CCHL for 2 seasons until his return to Europe in 2020 as Head Coach in Erste Liga in Hungary.
